Calibration Certificate Engine

Spreadsheet readings become issued certificates. One engine, five instrument types, ninety-four rows verified against the real thing.

A calibration lab asked us to stop the copy-paste between a spreadsheet and a Word template. One generic engine now covers five instrument types — it locates metadata by label and reading columns by header text, so nothing is hardcoded per instrument.

Building it turned up two defects the manual process had been shipping for years. Thermal imagers and insulation testers were being padded with ten blank rows. And resistance magnitude prefixes were being dropped, making some values unsafe to interpret without their units.

We checked the new engine against an already-issued certificate, cell for cell, across all ninety-four rows before anyone relied on it.
